چکیده

An algorithm for non-parametric estimation of one-dimensional ul-trasound pulses in echo sequences from human tissues is derived. The technique is a variation of the homomorphic ltering technique using the real cepstrum, and the underlying basis of the method is explained. The algorithm exploits a priori knowledge about the structure of rf line echo data and can employ a number of adjacent rf lines from an image. The prime application of the algorithm is to yield a pulse suitable for deconvolution algorithms. This will enable these algorithms to properly take into account the frequency dependence of the attenuation and its variation within a patient and among patients. It is also possible to use the estimated pulse for attenuation estimation, and the consistency of the assumptions underlying the proposed technique is demonstrated by its ability to recover low variance attenuation estimates in the normal liver from in vivo pulse-echo data. Estimates are given for eight diierent patients.

Estimation of in vivo pulses in medical ultrasound.

An algorithm for the estimation of one-dimensional in-vivo ultrasound pulses is derived. The routine estimates a set of ARMA parameters describing the pulse and uses data from a number of adjacent rf lines. Using multiple lines results in a decrease in variance on the estimated parameters and significantly reduces the risk of terminating the algorithm at a local minimum. Examples from use on sy...

Non-invasive estimation of cardiac wall stress by using tissue doppler-echocardiography ultrasound images: People with coronary artery stenosis

In this study, a method for non-invasive estimation of stress on the heart wall in  the diastole phase is presented using ultrasound echocardiography and tissue Doppler  imaging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the stress on the heart wall as a  pre-diagnosis  to identify people with coronary artery stenosis. 29 patients with stenosis of more than 70%, 30 patients with stenosis of 50 to 7...

Stochastic Non-Parametric Frontier Analysis

In this paper we develop an approach that synthesizes the best features of the two main methods in the estimation of production efficiency. Specically, our approach first allows for statistical noise, similar to Stochastic frontier analysis, and second, it allows modeling multiple-inputs-multiple-outputs technologies without imposing parametric assumptions on production relationship, similar to...

Angularly-dispersed optical parametric amplification of optical pulses with one-octave bandwidth toward monocycle regime.

We demonstrated experimentally the generation of 65-microJ, 5.8-fs optical pulses with an ultrabroad bandwidth (540-1000 nm) by the use of a double-pass angularly-dispersed non-collinear optical parametric amplifier. We also confirmed up to the 95-microJ output from the amplifier when seed pulses were not pre-compensated for. Furthermore, we confirmed that the broadband pump pulses brought in t...

Determination of height of urban buildings based on non-parametric estimation of signal spectrum in SAR data tomography

Nowadays, the TomoSAR technique has been able to overcome the limitations of radar interferometry techniques in separating multiple scatterers of pixels. By extending the principles of virtual aperture in the elevation direction, these techniques pay much attention in the analysis of urban challenging areas. Despite the expectation of interference of the distribution of buildings with different...
